Not released. Anthropic has announced no release date, model ID or price, and its models overview lists Fable 5.1 as the newest Fable.
The current Fable, Claude Fable 5.1 (claude-fable-5-1), launched on September 1, 2026, according to Anthropic's release notes.
October 13, 2026: a Claude Fable 5.5 entry briefly appeared in Azure's model catalog and in LiteLLM, with values carried over from Fable 5.1; LiteLLM removed it a day later, according to TestingCatalog.
October 17, 2026: TestingCatalog reported that Fable 5.5 had reached Anthropic's partners and might ship the following week. As of November 3 it has not.
