Short answer
GPT-6.2 Sol has not been released. As of November 5, 2026, OpenAI hasn't announced it, and there's no GPT-6.2 model in OpenAI's model docs or API changelog. What we have are two reports from November 4, neither confirmed by OpenAI:
- Google Cloud quotas: X user @AiBattle_ posted that "GPT-6.2 Astra and Sol appeared on the Quotas page in the Google Cloud Console", adding "release likely tomorrow" (post).
- The Information: @kimmonismus, citing The Information, posted that GPT-6.2 "could come as soon as Friday" in Astra-, Sol- and Cyber-focused versions (post). The article itself is paywalled.
What you can use now: GPT-6.1 Sol (gpt-6.1-sol), today's Sol model, works with a TeamoRouter key in Codex, Claude Code and over the API. When GPT-6.2 Sol ships, you change only the model ID. Its upcoming model page is at /models/gpt-6.2-sol.
New accounts start with a $0 balance — top up before your first request. Top up from $5. If a request returns 402 (400 on the OpenAI format) with "wallet balance is insufficient", your balance is empty — your base URL and key are fine. Top up and retry.
Before GPT-6.2 Sol ships, use GPT-6.1 Sol with the same key
What "Sol" means in OpenAI's lineup
OpenAI's GPT-6 family has tiers. Astra is the most capable; Sol sits below it. When OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Sol on September 29, 2026, it said the model nearly matches GPT-6 Astra and costs less (TechCrunch). Its official price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, against $10 / $50 for GPT-6 Astra (OpenAI pricing).
If GPT-6.2 follows the same pattern, GPT-6.2 Sol would be the cheaper of the two 6.2 models most developers can use. Nothing about its price, context window or benchmarks has been published.
Timeline

For the Astra side of the story — Altman's "the next GPT is coming soon" and the Codex usage screenshots — see GPT-6.2 Astra.
What isn't known yet
- The release date. "As soon as Friday" and "likely tomorrow" are reports, not announcements.
- The final API model ID.
gpt-6.2-solis the name seen in quotas; OpenAI could publish something different. - Price, context window, reasoning levels and benchmarks.
- Whether a "Cyber" version will be in the public API at all.
We'll update this page and the GPT-6.2 Sol model page when OpenAI announces it.
Use GPT-6.1 Sol today
Codex CLI. Put this in ~/.codex/config.toml and set your TeamoRouter key in OPENAI_API_KEY:
model_provider = "teamorouter"
model = "gpt-6.1-sol"
[model_providers.teamorouter]
name = "TeamoRouter"
base_url = "https://api.teamorouter.com/v1"
env_key = "OPENAI_API_KEY"
wire_api = "responses"
OpenAI SDK. Change base_url and the model:
from openai import OpenAI
client = OpenAI(base_url="https://api.teamorouter.com/v1", api_key="sk-teamo-...")
response = client.responses.create(model="gpt-6.1-sol", input="Explain this stack trace and suggest a fix: ...")
print(response.output_text)
When GPT-6.2 Sol ships: change gpt-6.1-sol to the ID OpenAI publishes. The base URL and key stay the same. Release-day steps, including a fallback if the new ID isn't live yet: Switching to GPT-6.2. More on today's model: GPT-6.1 Sol API.
Paying for usage
No subscription: you top up a balance from $5 and pay only for the tokens you use, by card or with USDT, USDC or ETH from any exchange app or wallet (how to pay with USDT). The same key works for GPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek. TeamoRouter's prices are on the pricing page.
FAQ
When will GPT-6.2 Sol be released?
OpenAI hasn't said. On November 4, The Information reported "as soon as Friday" (November 6), and a post about Google Cloud quotas said "likely tomorrow". Neither is official.
What is the GPT-6.2 Sol model ID?
gpt-6.2-sol is the name reported from the Google Cloud quotas page. Use whatever ID OpenAI publishes at launch.
Is GPT-6.2 Sol cheaper than GPT-6.2 Astra?
Unknown. In the 6.1 generation, Sol cost $2 / $10 per million tokens against Astra's $10 / $50, but GPT-6.2 prices haven't been published.
Can I use GPT-6.2 Sol on TeamoRouter?
Not until OpenAI releases it. Use GPT-6.1 Sol with the same key now; when 6.2 Sol is out, switch the model ID.
