About LongCat-2.5 itself: Meituan released it on November 2, 2026 as a native multimodal model for long-horizon agent tasks. Meituan's tech team says it has 1.6 trillion total parameters with about 48 billion active per token, and builds on LongCat-2.0 with stronger visual understanding and agentic coding (Jiemian). On the LongCat API Platform the model name is LongCat-2.5, the context window is 1M tokens, and the limited-time price is $0.30 per million input tokens, $0.006 cached input and $1.20 output.
New accounts start with a $0 balance — top up before your first request. Top up from $5. If a request returns 402 (400 on the OpenAI format) with "wallet balance is insufficient", your balance is empty — your base URL and key are fine. Top up and retry.

These are the prices on LongCat's pricing page, labeled as a limited-time discount. LongCat says the prices shown on its platform and in your billing records are authoritative.
Besides pay-as-you-go, LongCat sells Token Packs: a fixed amount of tokens valid for 30 days, released in limited flash sales at 10:00, 16:00, 21:00 and 23:00 Beijing time. Cache hits don't use up a pack, and LongCat doesn't charge for failed requests (HTTP 401, 403, 429 or 500).

For Claude Code, LongCat's setup page uses ~/.claude/settings.json with ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL set to https://api.longcat.chat/anthropic, your LongCat key in ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN, and LongCat-2.5 as the model.

Is LongCat-2.5 open source?
Not yet. As of November 3, 2026 Meituan offers it through its chat service and API only; there is no LongCat-2.5 repository on its Hugging Face or GitHub. Earlier LongCat models, such as LongCat-2.0, are on Hugging Face.
