Short answer
You can pay for Claude with USDT by topping up a TeamoRouter balance. That balance works for the Claude, GPT and Gemini APIs, and for Claude Code and Codex, with no credit card and no crypto debit card. Payment runs on the X Layer network: install the OKX Wallet browser extension, hold USDT on X Layer, click "Pay with crypto" in the top-up dialog and sign. You don't pay gas. The minimum top-up is $5.
What you need
- A desktop browser with the OKX Wallet extension. Install OKX Wallet in Chrome or another desktop browser, create or import a wallet and unlock it. The payment is started from the browser extension, so without it you'll see a "no wallet found" error.
- USDT on the X Layer network, at least as much as you plan to top up. A balance on an exchange doesn't count until you withdraw it to your wallet. USDT on X Layer shows up on-chain as USD₮0 (USDT0) and is 1:1 with USDT.
- A TeamoRouter account. Sign up and open the console.
Move USDT to X Layer
If your USDT is on OKX:
- Open OKX, go to Assets → Withdraw and pick USDT.
- Choose X Layer as the network.
- Paste your OKX Wallet address as the destination; click the address in the extension to copy it.
- Send a small test amount first, then the rest.
If your USDT is on Binance or another exchange: as far as public information shows, OKX is the only exchange that withdraws USDT straight to X Layer. Send your USDT to your OKX account first over a network both sides support (for example TRC20), then withdraw to X Layer as above.
No OKX account, or OKX isn't available where you live: USD₮0 on X Layer is Tether's USDT0, which can be moved across chains. The Transfer page on the official USDT0 site, usdt0.to, lists X Layer among its networks, along with Tron, Ethereum, Arbitrum and others. Connect your wallet, pick the chain your USDT is on as the source and X Layer as the destination, and use your OKX Wallet address as the recipient; the page shows whether the route works and what it costs. You pay gas on the source chain (for example TRX on Tron), but none when you pay on X Layer. Check that the domain is usdt0.to and try a small amount first.
Picking the wrong network is the most common mistake. Before sending, check that the network is X Layer and the address is your own OKX Wallet address.
Top-up steps
- Sign in to TeamoRouter and open the top-up dialog in the console.
- Choose an amount and click "Pay with crypto".
- Approve the connection request in the wallet.
- If the wallet isn't on X Layer, it asks you to switch networks; the first time, it asks you to add X Layer. Approve it.
- Sign the request in the wallet and wait for the balance to arrive. You're signing an authorization, not sending a transaction yourself, so you don't need OKB for gas.
- Once the balance arrives, create an API key and start calling models.
What the signature request contains
The wallet asks you to sign a USD₮0 transfer authorization (EIP-3009 TransferWithAuthorization). It contains only: the payer (your wallet), the recipient, the amount, a validity window and a one-time nonce.
- The amount is in USD₮0's 6-decimal units, and some wallets show it as a whole number: 5000000 means 5 USDT, 50000000 means 50 USDT.
- The authorization covers only this amount. It expires after its validity window and can be used once; it gives no access to anything else in your wallet.
- After you sign, the recipient submits the transfer on-chain, which is why you don't pay gas.
Common errors
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No wallet found | The extension isn't installed or the wallet is locked | Install and unlock OKX Wallet, then reload the page |
| Signature rejected | You clicked reject in the wallet | Click "Pay with crypto" again |
| Insufficient balance | Not enough USDT on X Layer in the wallet | Send more USDT to your wallet's X Layer address; exchange balances don't count |
| Payment not completed, code -32603 | The wallet extension failed while connecting | Make sure OKX Wallet has a wallet created or imported and is unlocked; if another wallet extension (e.g. MetaMask) is installed, disable it in your browser's extension settings; reload, or restart the browser |
| Network switch failed | The wallet didn't switch to X Layer | Switch to X Layer manually in the wallet and retry |
After you top up
One API key covers Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek and more, and you're charged only for tokens you use. No subscription. Claude runs on the native Anthropic protocol, so Claude Code works directly.

- Claude Desktop setup: Connect Claude Desktop
- Picking a model: Claude Opus 5.5 pricing and setup, Claude Fable 5.5 API
